On August 30, 2011, a suicide car bomb exploded in the parking lot of a mosque in Quetta, Pakistan, as Shia Muslim worshippers were leaving after Eid prayers. The attack killed 11 people and injured 20 others. According to Ahsan Mahboob, a Pakistani Capital City Police Officer, the device contained approximately 40 kilograms (88 lb) of explosives.

The blast caused significant physical damage beyond the loss of life, destroying 10 vehicles in the parking area as well as several nearby houses. The dead and injured were transported to Civil Hospital and Bolan Medical College for treatment and identification.
