On February 9, 2004, 21-year-old nursing student Maura Murray vanished. Murray emails professors and a work supervisor citing a family death (later said not to have occurred), packs belongings, withdraws cash, buys alcohol, and drives north from campus. A 'be on the lookout' report is issued for Murray; she is officially referred to as 'missing' by Haverhill police. A message board user claims to have seen a backpack resembling Murray's near Pemigewasset Overlook. The case remains unsolved. The full case file is on Casepin.
