On 4 October 2024 in Istanbul, two 19-year-old women, Ayşenur Halil and İkbal Uzuner, were killed within half an hour of each other by the same 19-year-old man, who then died by suicide. What the video says

Casepin's case of the year for 2024: on a single afternoon in Istanbul, two 19-year-old women were killed about half an hour apart by the same young man. The victims were Ayşenur Halil and İkbal Uzuner. Their attacker, who had been hospitalized for psychiatric illness five times that year, then died by suicide. The killings, carried out in public, reignited nationwide protests over femicide in Turkey and renewed calls to restore the Istanbul Convention protecting women from violence.
