On July 29, 2005, an explosive device detonated against a patrol of the Gendarmerie Nationale in the town of Tidjelabine, located in Boumerdès Province, Algeria. The blast killed two people and injured four others.
The Al-Qaeda Organization in the Islamic Maghreb was suspected of responsibility for the attack; no individual was formally charged or convicted in connection with the bombing.
