2010 Trade Bank of Iraq bombings

On 20 June 2010, two suicide bombers drove vehicles laden with explosives to the headquarters of the Trade Bank of Iraq in central Baghdad and detonated them simultaneously. Each vehicle carried approximately 80 kilograms (180 lb) of ammonium nitrate. The explosions occurred after the vehicles struck the blast walls that had been erected to protect the bank building.
The attack killed at least 26 people and injured 50 others, according to the available account of the incident. The bombings targeted one of Iraq's key financial institutions, located in the heart of Baghdad, and caused significant casualties among those present at or near the bank's headquarters at the time of the explosions.
