On 1 August 2007, multiple suicide bombings and car bombings occurred across Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. Among these attacks was one in which a fuel tanker packed with explosives detonated near a petrol station in the Mansour suburb of the city.
The explosion set fire to ten vehicles at the petrol station. The resulting blast and fire killed 50 people and wounded 60 others in and around the petrol station.
The perpetrators and motive remain unknown, and no subsequent investigation or prosecution is documented. No individuals have been named as victims, charged, convicted, or otherwise identified in connection with this attack.
