On 13 December 2015, an explosion struck a clothes bazaar in the Parachinar area of Pakistan's Kurram Valley. The blast killed 25 people and injured a further 62. It has not been established whether the explosion was carried out as a suicide attack or was triggered by a remotely controlled device.
The bombing occurred in Parachinar, a town in the Kurram Valley near Pakistan's border region, an area that has previously been the site of similar attacks, including a 2008 Parachinar bombing and a 2013 Parachinar attack.
