    Murder of Glory Chau and Moon Siu

    Glory Chau Wing-ki, 65, and Moon Siu Yuet-yee, 63, were murdered in Tai Kok Tsui, Hong Kong, in March 2013. Their son Henry Chau Hoi-leung was convicted of double murder in 2015; his friend Angus Tse Chun-kei was acquitted of murder but convicted of preventing lawful burial.

    A 15-year-old Hong Kong student disappeared on 19 September 2019 and was found dead in the sea off Yau Tong on 22 September 2019, during the 2019 Hong Kong protests. Police concluded she had taken her own life, but a coroner's inquest returned an open verdict, and her death remains the subject of public dispute.

    Murder of Li Sin-heng

    Annie Li Sin-heng, a 20-year-old Hong Kong Polytechnic University nursing student, was fatally stabbed by her boyfriend Ng Yan-kin aboard a Cross-Harbour bus on 16 September 2017 following a relationship dispute. Ng was convicted of murder in 2020 and sentenced to life imprisonment in 2021.

    2019 November shooting incident in Sai Wan Ho

    During a protest dispersal operation on the morning of 11 November 2019, a Hong Kong traffic police officer shot a 21-year-old man in the abdomen at close range in Sai Wan Ho, and fired two further live rounds at a second man without hitting him, during citywide unrest linked to the 2019–2020 Hong Kong protests.
