Disappearance of Michele Anne Harris
Michele Anne Harris, a 35-year-old mother of four from Spencer, New York, vanished after leaving a boyfriend's apartment late on September 11, 2001. Her estranged husband, Cal Harris, was tried four times over the following decade — convicted twice, then acquitted at a 2016 bench trial after his convictions were overturned on appeal. Her body has never been found.

Killing of Tammy Alexander
Tammy Jo Alexander, 16, was found shot to death in a Caledonia, New York cornfield on November 10, 1979, after running away from her Florida home. She remained unidentified for 35 years, known as "Caledonia Jane Doe," until DNA and forensic reconstruction efforts led to her identification in January 2015. Her killer has never been identified.

Bag murders
Between 1975 and 1977, dismembered remains of six men were found stuffed in garbage bags floating in the Hudson River near New York City. The victims' identities and the killer were never officially established, though a suspect implicated by a witness was never charged in these deaths.

Bushwick, Brooklyn, New York City · 2005
Killing of Rashawn Brazell
In February 2005, 19-year-old Rashawn Brazell disappeared from his Bushwick, Brooklyn home; his dismembered remains were later found in trash bags across the borough, though his head was never recovered. In 2017, his cousin Kwauhuru Govan was charged with the murder after separately being connected to another Brooklyn homicide.
