Attack on Tasooki

On the night of March 16, 2006 (25 Esfand 1384 in the Iranian calendar), a group of armed men led by Abdolmalek Rigi, wearing police uniforms, stopped passing vehicles — mostly buses — on the Zabol-Zahedan road near the Tasooki police station in Iran's Sistan and Baluchistan Province. The attackers, members of the Baloch religio-political insurgent group Jundallah (Iran), closed the road and divided passengers by ethnic and sectarian identity — separating Baloch, Shia, Sunni, and other travelers.
