Johanna Jansson and Maja Hellman were convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment — the first women under 21 in Swedish history to receive that sentence — before an appeals court reduced Jansson's sentence to 16 years and released Hellman, who had already served the sentence handed down on appeal.
