Jerry Michael "Mike" Williams, 31, vanished during a duck-hunting trip on Lake Seminole on December 16, 2000, and was long presumed drowned and consumed by alligators. His remains were found near Tallahassee in October 2017 and ruled a homicide. His wife, Denise Williams, and her longtime friend and later second husband, Brian Winchester, were ultimately tied to the killing; Winchester testified he shot Williams at Denise's direction, and Denise was convicted of conspiracy to commit murder.

On January 5, 2002, 15-year-old Charles J. Bishop stole a Cessna 172 during a flight lesson in Tarpon Springs, Florida, and flew it into the Bank of America Tower in downtown Tampa, killing himself. A suicide note cited Osama bin Laden, but officials found no evidence of any terrorist connection and treated the crash as an apparent suicide.

On November 23, 2012, 17-year-old Jordan Davis was fatally shot at a Jacksonville, Florida gas station by Michael Dunn following an argument over loud music. Dunn was convicted of attempted murder in a first trial and, in a 2014 retrial, convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life without parole plus 105 years.

Jorge Torres Jr. died of suffocation in Winter Park, Florida in February 2020 after his girlfriend, Sarah Boone, zipped him into a suitcase; she was convicted of second-degree murder in October 2024 and sentenced to life in prison.

Charles "Chip" Flynn, 22, was fatally shot in a Brevard County, Florida citrus grove in April 1989. Crosley Alexander Green was convicted of the killing based largely on the testimony of Flynn's ex-girlfriend Kim Hallock, but decades of appeals cited withheld evidence and inconsistencies, leading to his conviction being vacated in 2018 before being reinstated in 2022.

Bernice Novack and her son, Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel heir Ben Novack Jr., were killed three months apart in 2009 — Bernice in her Fort Lauderdale, Florida, home and Ben in a Rye Brook, New York hotel suite. Ben's estranged wife, Narcy Novack, was convicted in 2012 of orchestrating both killings and was sentenced to life in prison without parole; her brother and three other men were also convicted or pleaded guilty for their roles.

Sandra "Sandee" Rozzo, a Pinellas Park, Florida bartender, was shot to death in her garage on July 5, 2003. Her former partner and coworker Tracey Humphrey and his wife Ashley Humphrey, married just one day before the killing, were both convicted in connection with her murder.

Rapper Jahseh Onfroy, known as XXXTentacion, was robbed and fatally shot in his car outside a Deerfield Beach motorcycle shop on June 18, 2018. Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome, and Dedrick Williams were convicted in March 2023 of premeditated murder and armed robbery and sentenced to life without parole; a fourth participant, Robert Allen, pleaded guilty to lesser charges and testified for the prosecution.

Corey Jones, a 31-year-old drummer and housing authority employee, was fatally shot by an off-duty-dressed plainclothes police officer while waiting for roadside assistance near his disabled car in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, in October 2015. Officer Nouman Raja was later convicted of manslaughter and attempted first-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
